Jed made the trip to Myreside with several changes from the previous week with Barrie and Batey in the forwards and Burke in the backs in the starting line up.


Perfect conditions and with the sun shinning both teams started the match with one win and a single defeat in the league. Both teams started the game at pace willing to run the ball at every opertunity. The home team started the stronger and scored after some superb handling saw Aitken cross over for the first try after 10 minutes converted by Walls, After some kickable penalties had been missed by both sides it was Jed that scored next when Ross Combe made a break up the blind side to pass inside to Burke to score in from the touch line on the 16th minute. The game ebbed and flowed for both teams the next score coming from the boot of Walls after 30 minutes when he converted another penalty to make the half time score 10 - 5 to the home team.


Watsonians started the half the better team pressurising their visitors after prop Nagle was yellow carded before half time, Wallis again converted a penalty after 5 minutes, Jed were quick to reply with a penalty conversion by Richie after 7 minutes, the home team then had a 15 minute period were they scored a try, conversion, penalty and drop goal however Jed did not let their heads go down, a break by Harkness saw him pass to Donald Grieve who ran in from 22 meters to score in the corner after 25 minutes which was converted by Richie. Both teams began to make changes and it was the home team that had the final say when Chalmers scored a try converted by Aitken to make the final score Watsonians 33 Jedforest 15


The players appreciated the good traveling support and look forward to seeing everyone down for next weeks game against Stewarts Melville at Riverside, there is an open invitation to all supporters to come down for a curry and a pint for only £5 before the match.
