Super Saturday II got off to a cracking start with a full house in for lunch and a superb meal dished up by Jed's loyal caterer Jill Davidson.
With bellies full the Jed faithful were hopeful of Jed stretching their winning run and we got off to a good start with an early Gregor Mein penalty. Dundee had started the day in 3rd place in the league and it started to show why. They were dominating play and leveled with a penalty and scored an intercepted try on 17 minutes. Jed had defended manfully up till now and in fairness Dundee deserved the lead. Another silly penalty gave Dundee a 16 - 3 lead after 22 minutes but Jed hit back with a great try from Robbie Shirra-Gibb in from of the kop. Dundee kicked a 3rd penalty on the half hour mark and that was the end of the first half scoring. HT Jed 8 - 16 Dundee.
Jed played much better in the second half and were rewarded with a try from Gregor Mein after some good pressure on the Dundee line, Mein converted his own try. He then kicked a penalry to give Jed a narrow lead after 56 minutes. Fraser Harkness then scored an absolute trademark try, he wriggled straight through the middle of the ruck on the 10 yard line and scored under the posts, Mein converted to give Jed a 25 - 16 lead after an hour. Dundee were trying to nget back into the game and took a quick tap penalty and Gegor Law sin binned for not retreating 10 yards. Dundee scored with the man advantage to set up a nervey last 15 minutes. Gregor Mein missed a long range drop goal but it didn't matter as we had just enough fight to hold on for a great win that shoots us up to 6th place in the league.
